While at the University of New Mexico School of Law, Ms. Blankenship was named Health Law Scholar and received honors in Clinical Law. Her paper, ERISA and State Regulation of Health Care, was awarded thesis honors, the University of New Mexico Alumni Writing Award and placed in the American Bar Association's real Property, Probate, and Trust Law section writing competition. Ms. Blankenship has worked in health care for over 25 years including primary care clinic management and public health program development. Ms. Blankenship has authored two publications on maternal and child health care and is a frequent lecturer on health care issues.
